Arlene Burnett's photography and installation explores the interiors of vacated buildings, and the discarded objects and furniture found within these spaces. She often uses the rules used by police forensics for photographing crime scenes to obtain a photograph that would stand as evidence in law – a ‘truthful’ record.
She also collaborates with Paul Newman as Behind Closed Doors, where they work with other artists on projects exporing private spaces, the uncanny, and the overlooked.
