Sundial

a.a.s. Time Piece #1

Chapter VI of Guy Debord’s The Society of the Spectacle, ‘Spectacular Time’, should be photocopied and pasted on the gallery wall.

A bar of dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) should be placed on a plain plate on top of a plinth.

At the start of the night, a halogen floodlight on a stand should be switched on an pointed at the chocolate at a distance of approximately 30cm

During the course of the evening the chocolate should melt and release a strong scent of chocolate.

NB: This piece is a sideways Nod to Henri Bergson’s dissolving sugar lump

a.a.s. Time Piece #2

A second halogen floodlight on a stand should be set up pointing at a sundial so that it reads as the time of the start of the Assembly for the whole duration of the event.
